Lagos Encounters

Disclaimer: The encounters may not be so great but Lagos is a great place. This post is not to bash Lagos and its people but simply to share some encounters I’ve had in Lagos especially as a sort of newbie.

NYSC was definitely an interesting year for me and the first time that I can say I truly experienced Lagos. I properly experienced Lagos transportation, dealt with agberos/area boys and went to the market randomly. From that year alone, I have a lot of stories.

Breaking the funk

I have been in such a writing funk for a long time and I have no idea why that is. I have ideas yet I don’t write, I’m surprised that I’m still getting emails and when I have time to write I just don’t. This has been going on since last year. I was waiting to magically get the writing bug back but since that is not happening, I’m breaking the funk by fire, by force. I was going to go all church and make a joke about casting the demon that is causing this, however, it’s not that deep and God would laugh as it is luck if I’m at church on a Sunday. *I did go today*

Releasing exam stress and having fun


I took a day off. I woke up yesterday and I just couldn’t read. There is so much information to take in! Luckily, a friend suggested that we should go to Tutti Frutti in Wuse II. On the way, we got hungry and decided to go to KFC, which is right next to it. The food was really good. It did cost more than what I would have paid in London but as I keep being told, this is Nigeria, not London, and I need to stop converting. Also, I was happy to see a burger because I haven’t really been liking the food I have been eating much. The service was good also. After, we went to Tutti Frutti and got some frozen yoghurt. There were different flavours such as Pomegranate (not so nice), vanilla, chocolate, guava and orange. I picked vanilla, chocolate and guava. They also had a variation of toppings to choose from. I picked skittles and jelly babies.
